Cotillion 2015 was definitely a highlight of Malloy's first 8 years of life. She had no idea what she was in for when I told her she was asked to be a Herald in 65th annual Holiday in Dixie Cotillion. There were costume fittings, publicity head shots, and finally the big weekend. Malloy was asked to be a Herald back in September, but had to keep the secret until the end of January.
Here is Malloy's publicity photo that ran in the Shreveport Times when the court was officially announced on January 31.
There were two days of practices
The Queen's dinner was on Thursday night. The Heralds had to prepare and give a toast to the ball chairman.
The girls instantly became great friends.
Cheers to us!
Showing Mrs. Shelley, the ball chair, some love
Mom and dad got to come along for the events. The theme of the Cotillion was "The Golden Twenties"
Then there was primping for the ball on Friday afternoon with hair and makeup appointments. The Heralds had their own dressing room.
Posing for lots of photos
And partying after the presentation of the court.
The girls were in awe of Queen Mae and her beautiful gown and tiara.
It was hard work being a Herald - staying up until midnight two nights in a row is tiring for a seven year old!
Parading on Saturday with Kyle (who was dressed as a Jester)
Malloy and King Dave.
She had a ball riding on the float with the royalty

And the twins had fun catching loot at the parade
The Royal Reception was the last event of the weekend. We were all exhausted, but it was a weekend Malloy will never forget.
