Let's Play Dress Up!
Malloy enjoyed her first game of "dress up" with her eight year old cousin Claire tonight. I put Malloy down in her crib and was sure she had drifted off to sleep. I knew that Malloy's grandmother, "Dearie", and cousin Claire were in the bedroom saying good-night to her, but I had no idea what they were really up to. Imagine my surprise when they emerged from the bedroom an hour later dressed as princesses! The costume only became more elaborate as time went by. What started out as just a crown evolved to include a few layers of Mardi Gras beads and some very stylish ankle bracelets.

Halloween is Coming!
Malloy enjoys hanging out in her swing.
She likes to "pet" Cleo and Belle when they are within arm's reach.
"Petting" means grabbing and pulling out a large tuft of cat hair.
Malloy loves to play with Daddy on the floor.
She is wearing her new bib specially designed for droolers.
It is a circle so you can just rotate it around when one spot gets too wet.
All worn out after playing with Dad.

Sitting Up
Malloy is now practicing sitting up with the help of the Boppy pillow. She is also starting to enjoy "tummy time" more. Unfortunately she still cannot roll over from her tummy to her back! This is very frustrating for all of us. She will roll onto her tummy during a nap and then wake up very upset that she is face down. Once Malloy's sitting skills improve, we can move bathtime from the baby tub in the kitchen sink to the big bath tub. That should be fun!

Yummy
Malloy's first encounter with rice cereal went surprisingly well. She didn't spit it all out, but she didn't exactly love it either. Since then, we have also tried apple sauce which she seems to like a little bit more. We thought the first feeding might be really messy, but it was not too bad. I think that covering the seat with a towel was unnecessary. Click on the arrow below to see some video of this milestone.

Tennis Anyone?
Malloy came out to support her parents in a tennis tournament this weekend. She even wore her tennis dress and visor.
