January Happenings

It seems like January is kind of a quiet month.  Other than the twins' birthday, there isn't a lot going on.  Here's what we were up to....

Malloy had two cheer performances.
She has really perfected her poses.
We went to a Professional Bull riding Competition

Maisey and I went see Paddington.  I thought this was her first show at the theater, but I forgot that we saw Annie last month.
Lucky for her, they offer beef jerky in the kids meal.  Her favorite!!
While we were a the movies, Kyle took Malloy and Gardner to see
 Monster Trucks.

The very next night, Malloy and Kyle were off to see WWE wrestling.

I got away on a girls' trip to New Braunfels, Texas and Kyle took the kids to the Perot Museum (and Ikea!) in Dallas.

For being such a normally quiet month, we sure did have a busy January!

Fire Station Party

Gardner had his party at the Caddo Parish Fire District 5 station.  The firemen were so friendly and helpful.
They let the kids try on all of their gear.

The kids climbed all over the trucks and sounded the siren.
It was a bit chilly, but they even sprayed the firehose.
 Make a wish!
Good times were had by all.

Maisey's Princess Party

This year marked the first time that the twins requested separate birthday parties.  Maisey opted for a Princess Party and Gardner had his at the fire station.

Maisey's was all about the princesses and boys would not have had much fun.

In a rather surprising move, she decided to dress as Snow White for the party rather than as Elsa - who is currently the world's most popular princess.

The party began with the Fairy Godmother and Elsa reading a book to the girls.
Then on to make up application.
Nails
 Fashion show

 Treasures from the treasure box
Facepainting, tattoos, and the coronation of the birthday girl.  It seemed like the party would never end!

Afterwards, Dearie gave Maisey her birthday gift.  I "real" looking baby doll that smells like vanilla.  She has been named Nicole in honor of the girl who works at the store where Maisey first spotted her.
Happy Birthday Maisey!  Hope it was magical!

A Day of Celebrations

January 14 - The twins are four!

We celebrated at school.  They were the leaders and got to wear birthday crowns.
We shared cookie cake with classmates.

Then Bunker and Dearie stopped by for an after school celebration with cupcakes.

Then Granddaddy stopped by with more cupcakes and presents.

A suitcase from Granddaddy and a logging truck from Mommy and Daddy.
What could be in that BIG box?
An Elsa doll as big as Maisey!!
She can even wear Maisey's pajamas.
G Man loved his little chainsaw man and truck.

I-Bowl

It was a cold, wet, pretty miserable day for the Independence Bowl... but weather never stops the McInnises from attending though!

Flash back to December 31, 2000 - the Snow Bowl.

Kyle is wearing the same jacket - 14 years later.  We started out in our "free" seats that we won from our Trivia Night victory.  We didn't last too long.  I thought it would be a shame not to take advantage of the All Access pass.

So we headed up to the club level box where they had heat and free food and drinks.

Gardner loves a good corn dog!

Malloy mingled with the Miami fans

After the twins and I left, Malloy took over custody of the All Access pass and enjoyed the view from the sideline.

A few days before the game, Malloy and Kyle hung out with Steve Spurrier at the bowling alley.  I enjoyed lunch with Jeri Spurrier at the Ladies Day Out events.
