Father's Day

My major goal for Father's Day was to make it to church.  We haven't been in a little while since Easter.  What's funny is that one of Kyle's mom's friends tells her how she sees Kyle there EVERY WEEK.  He must have a twin because I can count exactly how many times we've been this year on one hand finger!  Kyle is an usher this month, so he and Malloy have actually had perfect attendance in the month of June.  Now that the twins are getting a little more flexible with their naps, I thought we should make it a family affair.  Gardner is suffering from some pretty bad separation anxiety.  He pretty much flips out at the gym nursery and whenever a baby sitter comes to our house, and of course he did exactly the same at the church nursery.

Malloy goes to Children's Chapel during the church services where they read Bible stories and make crafts. She wanted to come to the "big church" this week, so Kyle picked her up before Communion and they walked up together.  Considering Malloy's eating habits and food phobias, I am surprised she didn't gag or spit out the Communion wafer that was dipped in wine.  It could have been a real disaster!

She wanted me to take a picture of her after church.

And she wanted to take a picture of me (proof that I was there!)

I was going to attempt to get a nice picture of the kids with Kyle for Father's Day, but M&G fell asleep on the way home and Kyle changed clothes after church.  After the naps, I attempted a group photo of the kids.

As expected, it did not happen.

Gardner and Malloy share a tender moment...

and then it turns into chaos.

Daddy and Gardner

I know I am biased, but this might be the cutest little boy I have ever seen.

I just love that white hair

Maisey is pretty adorable herself.  She is getting blonder and more daring (walking down the two stairs to Kyle's study)

Here comes the blankie loving, thumb sucking brigade.

And don't forget about the one and only finger sucker in our house!  Kyle is not sucking any of his digits.  He is deep in thought - most likely watching a sporting event.

Happy Father's Day, Kyle.  We love you!

Little Fishies

It is challenging to take three small children to the pool.  It is even more challenging to take any pictures of your family at the pool when there are two adults and three children.   Thank goodness one of those kids is a great swimmer.  We have ventured out to the pool almost every weekend this summer.  We are usually desperate for some sort of afternoon activity in which our kids can burn off lots of energy.

Gardner LOVES the water.  He is already a little dare devil.  Check out his tricks

Maisey is not so daring, but she is a good sport and doesn't mind going under water.
I thought the twins might be too small for the Puddle Jumper flotation devices, but they actually worked pretty well.  I tried Maisey's on before we went to the pool.  She thought it was pretty cool until she fell.  "Help, I've fallen and I can't get up".  She was so mad about wearing it at the pool yesterday.  I couldn't figure out what her problem was until I realized that she can't bend her elbows in it and therefore can't get her thumb in her mouth!

The babies are taking swim lessons at the Swim School this summer.  I will try to get some pictures of that, but will have to do it when I have some extra adults on deck to man the camera.  Malloy was at the pool with us too, but didn't make it into any pictures.  She is on the swim team this summer (just practicing - no meets for her) and I will be sure to get some shots of her at practice in her team suit.

Poor Gardner

Poor little Gary was not feeling well last week.  He was a little fussier than usual last weekend and he woke up several times Sunday night, so I took him to the doctor on Monday morning.  After getting his ears checked (yes, an ear infection!), lungs listened to, finger pricked, a breathing treatment, and a chest x-ray, I was shocked to find out that G-Man had pneumonia!

Here were at Target on one of his only solo shopping trips with mommy.  If he was feeling better, I think he would have looked more excited to be riding in a shopping cart by himself.   This picture was taken Tuesday when he had to stay home from Mother's Day Out.  He was back to his old self by the end of the week thanks to a shot of rosephin, a Z-pack, and some Prednisone.

Silly Twins

I have been looking forward to the time when the twins would start acting like TWINS.  Most of the time, it seems like they coexist in the same household, in the same bedroom, in the same car and don't really pay much attention to each other.  Lately, they have been interacting more and it is fun to watch.  Sometimes they sneak off and are playing together in their bedroom or Kyle's office.  Today they were being very silly while eating their afternoon snack.

maisey reaches in for some of gary's popcorn
he generously passes some to her
Tonight in the bathtub, they were inspecting each other's mouths.  Gardner put his finger in Maisey's mouth and she bit it, HARD.  Let's hope the biting doesn't become a problem!

Malloy has been having fun with the twins as well.  She likes to play with them.  This sometimes worries me because she likes wrestling with them, picking them up and chasing them.  She also likes dressing them up.

Gardner is sporting what I like to call the "technicolor dream coat".  It is actually a pretty cute shirt from the Gap, but it looks quite bizarre on a baby wearing pajamas and a bib.
Maisey wanted to try on the special "vest" as Malloy calls it.  Malloy had already dressed Maisey in a very colorful shirt/dress.
In the background of the photo below (taken with my phone) you can see big sister in action holding a topless Maisey.   They had just emerged from Malloy's closet where Maisey was dressed in only a long skirt.

Dance Camp

To start off her busy summer of exciting camps, Malloy attended Princess Dance Camp last week.  At the end of the week, the parents got to see a little performance.  Malloy took the year off from dance and chose to do gymnastics, soccer and swimming instead.  I think this camp rekindled her interest in dance.  She said she wants to do it again in the fall.  We'll see if she changes her mind before then.

Pile of Babies

In our house, this is referred to as a "Maisey Sandwich".  We often make Gardner Sandwiches and Malloy Sandwiches too.  Maisey was lucky enough to be squished in between her two siblings on this particular day when I had my camera handy.

You can't see her face, but I assure you she was enjoying it, as were Gardner and Malloy.  Kyle said this is actually called a "Pile of Babies", but I think that since Maisey is clearly sandwiched between her two siblings, it is actually a Maisey Sandwich.

I was going to attempt to get a cute picture of all three kiddos in their coordinating attire, but that proved impossible (hence the Pile of Babies).  Here's big sister.

Little sister
And the one and only brother

Here are these two babies we like to call "The Twins".  The boy twin was carrying around a black Christmas purse, but it fell around his waist.
