Pumpkin Patch

We picked a beautiful, warm afternoon to take a quick trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  Mommy is getting more daring and attempting to take all 3 kiddos out in public by herself.  Malloy was actually a big help.  She kept an eye on Maisey, while I made sure Gardner did not tip over any wheel barrows, fall out of any wagons, or throw any gourds.

Malloy poses in front of the gourds (aka "pumpkins" to the kids)

Maisey and her two little "pumpkins".

This Fall, how tall?  Looks like Malloy is just short of 4 ft.  Maisey around 3 ft?  Somehow, I don't think that measuring device is very accurate.
Gary attempts to push the wheel barrow.

Maisey is excited to show me her pumpkin selection.
Let's try again to see how tall Maisey is.  32 inches?

50th Day of School

Malloy celebrated her 50th day of school with a 1950's inspired sock hop.  The kids all dressed in poodle skirts and leather jackets.  They learned the hand-jive and did some other dances.  They ended the celebration with an ice cream sundae party.

Malloy and her dancing partner, Nicholas, pose for a picture.

Gentle Gary

Gardner is such a sweet, sensitive little guy. He gives good hugs, likes to snuggle, and has a very sweet demeanor.  He is talking up a storm.  His vocabulary multiplies daily.

Some of his favorite words are:
lawnmower
weed wacker
airplane
truck
bus
all gone
open
milk
tree
cat
dog
raisins
lemonade
marker
cracker
cookie

Gently petting Callie.

Holding hands with Mae Mae.

Carrying around his new football.
Testing out his coat and playing with candles.  He would not let go of these and even brought them to school with him one day.

That Smile!

Maisey makes this terrible expression whenever you ask her to smile.

She loves to dress up.  On this particular day, she found some of Malloy's underpants and decided she needed to wear two pairs on top of her jeans.

A few minutes later, with a huge goose egg on her head.  In the contest of Maisey vs. the brick patio, she lost.

Cool NOT Cute

What can I say?  She is 5 going on 16.  She wants to dress "cool" NOT "cute".  We have started a pattern on school days.  I get to pick the outfit one day (cute) and she gets to pick the next (cool).  Unfortunately, her school does not have uniforms or even a dress code.  Basically, anything goes.  The shirt below is not meant to be worn off the shoulder.  That is Malloy's own special way to make it cool.
Malloy selected this outfit and accessorized with the sequined beret.  She wore this to a friend's birthday party, and she has also worn the beret to school.
Last night we went to the Louisiana Tech vs. Texas A&M game.  Surprisingly, Malloy agreed to wear whatever I picked out for her.  Here she is looking cute - like a five year old.
Kyle can always spot a sports celebrity.  Here they are with Karl Malone - former La Tech Bulldog and NBA star.
On Friday, it was pajama day at school.  Malloy and her friend, Mary, both wore their American Girl "Julie" pajamas.  Their kindergarten class is called the Groovy Kids and Julie was from the 1970's.  Peace out!

Double Trouble at CFA

Last week, the twins and I decided to head to Chickfila for lunch.  We ran into my friend, Leah, who also has boy/girl twins.  In addition, my friends Suzanne and Chelsey were there with their toddlers.  At our one table, we used all six of the high chairs!
