You would never guess it by looking at these pictures, but Malloy HATED her first go cart experience. Kyle thought it would be fun to take Malloy to Party Central, a local amusement center, on Friday night. The first indication that the go carts weren't a good idea was when we saw the minimum age to ride was 4. There wasn't a minimum height requirement, so I figured that it would be okay for Malloy to ride because she is REALLY tall for a 3 year old. We told Malloy that if anyone asked, she was FOUR years old. This, of course, was confusing to Malloy who was certain that she just turned 3. On a sidenote, Kyle took Malloy to a basketball game a few months ago and children under 2 were not required to have a ticket. When the usher asked how old Malloy was, Kyle said she was 1. Malloy immediately interupted and told the usher that she was TWO! The usher thought it was so funny that he let her in without a ticket anyway.
We were the only ones on the go cart track, so Kyle and Malloy got in the two seater cart and I was in my own cart. As soon as the track superviser started the carts, Malloy's face became quite concerned. The carts rumbled very loudly and Malloy does not like loud noises. Fortunately, we were the only ones on the track or else it could have been an even more traumatic experience. She cried the entire time eventhough we both drove our carts very slowly and I tried to pull up beside them so I could wave to her and give her a thumbs up. Once the ride was over, Malloy was able to muster up a smile, but I don't think we'll be heading back to Party Central anytime soon!
