So Grown Up

Using scissors and looking so grown up.
What a big boy!
Maisey's new haircut.  Fortunately, it was not a result of a do it herself accident with scissors.  I am emphasizing scissors are ONLY used on paper - NOT on hair!

We're Three!!

It's hard to believe that these babies are THREE.  They celebrated their birthday  morning with donuts and singing.

Maisey got an American Girl dog named Meatloaf, some art supplies and Cinderella slippers.
Gardner was excited about his cleaning set.
They also got some crocheted hats from Dearie and Kindles from THEIR PARENTS.  When asked what I got them for their birthday, they told my parents "nothing".  When asked what Dearie gave them, they replied "Kindles".  Um no, kids, those Kindles were from Daddy and Mommy.  Dearie got you the HATS!

Granddaddy presented them with motorized riding toys.  Gardner got a John Deere tractor with a trailer.
Maisey got a two seater dune buggy.
They hosted their birthday party at The Swim School.  I will have lots more photos to post later courtesy of The Swim School photographer.

Caldwell Zoo

All of the kids were out of school for MLK.  Grandma consulted the weather forecast and decided it was going to be a perfect day to be outside.  We ventured over to Tyler, TX to the Caldwell Zoo.  The weather was incredible (for January) and the zoo was great too.

There were several birds that were just hanging out in trees.  They were not enclosed in any sort of cage, but they didn't fly away.

We got up close with the elephants and got to see what the inside of an elephant's mouth looks like.
Papa and Gardner checking out the zebras.

They had a fun play area for the kids

The twins just can't resist a petting zoo.

Baby in a Bowl

It's time for the annual Baby in a Bowl photo!  The photographer who did the twins' newborn photos posed them in all sorts of bowls and baskets, but most of those were props that she brought with her.  She took one picture of Maisey in the bowl on the dining room table.  Since this is my bowl, I thought it would be cute to take a picture of Maisey in the bowl on her 1st birthday....and then her 2nd and her 3rd.  This might be the last year of Baby in a Bowl because Maisey is just getting too big!  These photos also show the progression of her hair growth.  I am glad I took this when I did because Maisey got her hair cut a few days later.
