Getting Geared up for Halloween

The kids in their matching pumpkin shirts (thanks Lindy!). I just love Maisey's expression.  I have no idea what she was so mad about.
The twins wore their Halloween costumes to Mother's Day Out last Thursday.  Here are some shots I took after school.  Gardner was really hamming it up for the camera.

Another Visit from the Grandmas

Granny G, Grandma (and Papa too) passed through Shreveport last week.  They were only here for 2 days, but they got to spend lots of time with the babies and Malloy.  I think the only picture we took with Malloy in it is on my mom's camera.  Here are some shots from their visit.

Grandma has her arms full.

Granny G. brought the babies this new toy.

As you can see, they were very interested in it.

iPhone Blogging

I am testing out how blogging from my new phone works. Here are some pics of the babies before they went to bed tonight.
Silly, upside down Gardner
Kyle was trying to read his credit card number over the phone and the babies were attacking him.
Maisey doesn't care what color the blanket is.  If it's soft and available, she is using it.

Miscellaneous

Here are some random photos from the week.

Gardner in his helmet and shoes.  He started out wearing clothes that day, but he had a little accident

Maisey (wearing only a shirt for some reason) enjoying getting tossed in the air by Daddy.

Maisey attempting to get into a crawling position.  She has finally started putting some weight on her legs (she will stand on your lap or against the couch if you put her into position).  She also rolled from her back to her front for the first time.  It only took her 9 months to figure that one out!  I went in one morning to find her on her tummy.  She didn't seem to know how she got that way or how to turn herself back over.  She has rolled front to back before (at about 4 months old), but she may have forgotten.

Reading a book together

Since he has a helmet on, it is probably okay to hit him with a spoon

You can see how much (or rather little) hair Gardner has

She's supposed to be sleeping, but decided she wasn't tired after all

He is also supposed to be asleep.  We went in for a helmet adjustment on Friday and they trimmed the front of his helmet a little bit.  This picture was taken before that.  I thought it was too low in the front.

Maisey Monster

This isn't the best example of Maisey's "Cookie Monster" sound that she makes, but you'll get the idea.  It is especially funny when she is shoving food into her mouth while she does it.

Making the Most of the Helmet

Since Gardner is going to be in the helmet for a while, we figured we should have fun with it.  There are a few different options for decorating your helmet, or "blinging your band".  There is actually a website called blingyourband.com that sells decals for helmets with funny sayings like, "Just fixing my flat" with a picture of a flat tire.  In bigger cities, places that wrap cars, airplanes, boats, etc. with vinyl graphics offer free helmet wrapping.  I was lucky enough to find someone locally to wrap Gardner's helmet.  I am sure he thought I was crazy, but once I directed him to the website of the company that does it in Dallas, he got the picture.  They actually have a photo gallery of all the kids and their wrapped helmets.

Here's G-Man's newly transformed helmet.

I think his only option for Halloween is to be a Georgia football player.
I do not know why the helmet has holes in it.  Maybe to let his head breathe?  The holes are over the part of his head that is flat and needs to grow.  Actually, I think I remember the Cranial Tech telling me it is so we can see the progress.  As his skull gets closer to the holes, we will know it's working!

It was another pretty afternoon, so we all enjoyed some time on the swings.

Malloy is finally learning to swing herself.
We had to kill some time while Gardner's helmet was getting wrapped so we took a trip to the Dairy Queen.  Malloy spilled quite a bit of melted Blizzard on her dress.  By the way, they were out of Oreos, Butterfingers and strawberries.  What kind of DQ is that?

Gardner seems pretty pleased with his new lid.

Silly Bones

I picked up a few sets of glow in the dark skeleton pajamas for my little ones.  You can't beat the price - only $6.48 at Wal-Mart - and they are pretty cute.

Getting a good picture was a little challenging.

St. Paul's Celebration and More Helmet Pics

Today we went to Malloy's preschool to celebrate its 60th anniversary.  They had a big inflatable slide and lunch.  Parents, alumni, grandparents, etc. were free to roam around and visit the classrooms.  As soon as we arrived, Malloy ran right up to her classmate, Cole, who was waiting in line for the slide.  I am not sure who initiated the hand holding, but it was pretty cute.  She looks like she might be flirting a little with the sweep of her hair.

She showed us her classroom and how they go over the calendar each day and find out which child is the leader and the caboose.
She showed her old pal, Mary Stephens, her new classroom.
Gardner and Maisey also came along for the celebration.  G-Man looked like he was really interested in some cake crumbs.

Maisey enjoyed playing with her feet in the stroller.

After a nap (in the helmet) the babies were ready to play.  I think Gardner's expression in this picture is really funny.  You can see how completely toothless he is.  Also, this is a good picture of their matching giraffe outfits.

Gardner is crawling all around, including on top of Maisey.  Here, she is saying "Get OFF of me!"
"Oh, wait a second.  What is on the back of this helmet"
"I see, it is sort of like a bowling ball."
"I think I can fit my fingers in here if I really try."
Gardner shows of his standing skills.
"Look!  He doesn't have that bowling ball on his head anymore."
Gardner's sweaty little noggin.
"Hey, Mom!  I know how to open cabinet doors.  Isn't this going to be fun?"
My funny neighbor, Emily, saw Malloy's commercial for High Style Lipstick.  She invited her (rather, Malloy invited herself) into her house and applied some lovely lipstick to match her hot pink dress.  As you can see, Malloy showed Gardner some love with a kiss on the cheek.  He looks thrilled.
