Lazy Saturday

It's beginning to get cold (defined as less than 60 degrees) around here so Malloy had to wear her coat, hat and mittens when we went for a stroll on Saturday.

Just hanging out at home - eating some goldfish and sucking the fingers.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

What a difference a year makes! Last year, Malloy was not crawling or walking and could not interact with the Christmas tree unless I propped her up in front of it. This year, she is turning the lights on and off, removing the ornaments (which she thinks are balls), and throwing them. I decided to invest in some new shatterproof ornaments this year and I only put non-breakable ornaments on the tree. I will be keeping the Christopher Radko's in storage for a few years until Malloy can be trusted around them.

"Look, Mommy, a ball!"

"I know I am not supposed to be touching this, but I just can't help myself!"

Happy Happy, Mommy!

Malloy is beginning to understand the concept of birthdays, well, at least the part about how you sing and eat cake. She has a book about Corduroy's birthday and when she wants to read it she says, "Happy, happy". That is also what she said to me on my birthday this week. I had a good birthday - lunch with my parents, Malloy, my friend Holly, her daughter Cameron, and my mother-in-law. Kyle took me out to dinner and Malloy spent the night with Grandma & Grandpa.

Overalls & Beads

Because Malloy has so much trouble keeping her pants up on her tiny hiney, we decided to try out some overalls. They are working out quite well. Lately, the outfit of choice for Malloy is a dress with leggings. Sometimes the dresses just aren't practical though - especially on the playground. As you can see, the Mardi Gras beads from last year continue to be a great source of entertainment. Sometimes the best toys are free!

Haircut

BEFORE

AFTER

After much debate, I finally decided it was time to give Malloy a haircut. The straggly mullet is finally gone, and she has a sassy new bob courtesy of Mommy. It is not perfect, but it is definitely an improvement. After her bath the other night, I sat her in the highchair and snipped away while she ate some snacks. I saved her locks and put them in her little keepsake box. I was surprised at what a difference a little trim would make. Everyone noticed right away - her teachers at school, her grandparents - they all commented on her new 'do.

Fall

Malloy loves to be outside. She often points to the door or tries to open it herself while saying "outside, outside". This weekend we had some perfect fall weather so Malloy got to spend a lot of time playing in the yard and going to the park.

Malloy enjoyed watching our neighbor, Clayton, toss the football with Kyle.
