Halloween

Halloween in the wheelchair was a little challenging.  We decided to skip the "Halloween street" in our neighborhood that is always packed with hundreds of trick-or-treaters.  Instead, we went to a couple of parties and a quieter neighborhood.  Maisey was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for her party at school, but opted for a cowgirl costume on Halloween night.  Gardner was the Silver Power Ranger and Malloy was just "pink".

Break a Leg!

The second grade play was called "Shake it Up with Shakespeare".  Malloy played one of Henry VIII's wives - Ann of Cleves.  It was a really cute show and actually very educational.  They learned about several of Shakespeare's plays.

As they say in show business "Break a leg!", well that's exactly what Malloy did just 4 days after her big performance.  It happened in a Sunday afternoon soccer game.  No other players were involved - just Malloy and the ball.  Her injury looked awkward and painful when it happened, but I had no idea it was actually broken.

Malloy got the biggest hot pink cast you've ever seen from our friend Dr. Andrew Moritz.

She had a wheelchair, handicap placard and an elevator key.  It was a long 5 weeks in the cast and then we graduated to a boot.

Of course, a plain black boot would not be any fun so we had to beadazzle it.  Just before Christmas Malloy got out of her boot and is now walking on her own two feet.

Festival, Feast and Turkey Day

November!  A time for pilgrims, Indians and feasting!

The twins had their Harvest Festival at St. Paul's.
They did some copper punch art work.

 Decorated and painted teepees.

Paddled their canoes - just your typical Indian stuff.

The next day, they had their Thanksgiving Feast with the K-3 pilgrims.

We had our Thanksgiving Feast at home with Grandma, Papa, Dearie and the smoked turkey.

Gardner couldn't wait for the rolls to be ready.
Maisey refused to wear her smocked Thanksgiving dress.
