This week, the kids were out of school on Monday and Tuesday for Fall Break. When I realized my parents would be in town (i.e., 2 extra adults to supervise swimmers) I thought a trip to Great Wolf Lodge would be a nice get-away. We planned our trip around lunch and nap times and made a pitstop in Longview, TX for lunch at Chick-fil-a. We had a very nice drive over to Dallas until we got about 20 miles outside of Grapevine. Traffic came to an absolute standstill and it took us an hour to go about 10 miles. Fortunately, the twins were sleeping during most of the gridlock, and they were surprisingly pleasant when they woke up.
When we finally arrived and got into the hotel, this is what we saw. Gardner was mesmerized! He is still saying "Bucket of Waa-waa" over and over. That huge bucket that says Great Wolf Lodge fills with water and then tips over dumping a LOT of water on everyone below.
Here is a picture of the bucket of water crashing down on those below.
Papa got soaked.
Maisey had a great time, but was not as adventurous as Gardner on the water slides.
Malloy, Gardner and Papa having fun in the kids area.
Here is a shot of the shallow, kid friendly area that the twins enjoyed. There were two slides in the back. Maisey enjoyed the yellow one and Gardner ventured over to the blue one. As you can see, there was NO ONE there. We must have been one of the only schools on Fall Break this week.

We stayed in a suite with a separate bedroom and living area. I thought the twins might be able to sleep in a queen size bed with some pillows around the edges and chairs up against the bed to prevent them from rolling off. Wrong! After crawling and rolling around and not wanting to go to sleep, I called down to the front desk and had two pack and plays delivered!
Malloy enjoyed herself. She got a sparkling peace sign tattoo and rode on the mid-sized water slides. She was tall enough to go on almost all of the slides with an adult, but she could not be persuaded.
On our way home, we stopped at the same Chick-fil-A in Longview. As we stopped in the restroom for a diaper change, Gardner took it upon himself to tidy the space up a bit. He loves brooms, mops, and vacuums!
